Josh dedicated his life to building a world where barriers did not determine worth, and where those in need were met not with judgment, but with genuine care and support.
Josh’s leadership was defined not by title, but by heart. A relentless commitment to restoring humanity in its purest form. Josh firmly believed that every person deserves access to help, hope, and opportunity, regardless of circumstance. That belief became the foundation of this organization.
Though he is no longer with us physically, his legacy and spirit lives on in every life touched, every barrier broken, and every act of kindness extended in our name. It is through this continued work that Josh’s vision endures.

Welcome! My name is Kathryn and I am the President and CEO of Dark Moon Coaching LLC. I donate my time, as I personally do not make any profit or income from our company. I choose to continue Josh's vision and mission of building a kinder community.
I have also taken the opportunity to give individuals contract/freelance positions as our company provides them training, certifications, and whatever they may need to help them be able to make a living for themselves! I truly have taken "People Over Profit" to the very core.
I started this company back in 2019 as a non profit (formerly "Alt Recovery") due to Josh and I seeing a need for societal change, I then morphed it into a legacy in honor of Joshua Smith, loving son, brother, uncle, partner, and best friend.
I have dedicated my life to understanding and supporting the full spectrum of human healing, and we pride ourselves in being able to provide quality care for both behavioral health and substance use/addictions.
This foundation of advanced education, leadership experience, and direct client work allows me to guide our organization with integrity, compassion, and evidence-based vision, ensuring that Dark Moon Coaching LLC sets a new standard for accessible, high-quality, and transformative care free of barriers.
Jordan Simmons
Chief Operating Officer
Jordan serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Dark Moon Coaching, LLC, bringing a rare blend of operational excellence, human-centered leadership, and deeply intuitive emotional intelligence. Jordan not only serves but donates her time to this cause, as she chooses to not aim for income or profit, but to push for "People Over Profit"
With over five years of experience in the human services field, Jordan’s work has centered around some of the most vulnerable and resilient members of our community: individuals experiencing homelessness. Her dedication to meeting people exactly where they are, her unwavering belief in dignity for all, and her vision for a more compassionate world are directly aligned with the mission.
Jordan brings stability, clarity, and heart to the operational backbone of Dark Moon Coaching. She leads with empathy while maintaining a strong command of systems, processes, and organizational flow. She ensures that the company’s growth is always aligned with our purpose. Her leadership is steady and intuitive, balancing people-first values with strategic thinking and operational precision.
Kennadie Clark
Executive Assistant
Kennadie serves as our experienced Executive Assistant at Dark Moon Coaching LLC, bring along with her a well rounded balance of empathy and staying on a schedule. We are grateful Kennadie joined our cause!
Kennadie has donated her time to our mission and cause, knowing the need and community relief our services bring. Making our entire Executive Leadership Team truly "People Over Profit"
She brings a strong foundation in compassion, reliability, and communication, along with a natural ability to stay organized and adaptable in fast-paced environments. With her experience supporting busy households, managing complex schedules, and dedicating time to volunteer work, Kennadie leads with empathy, resilience, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
Kennadie is the core of our company. She ensures smooth communication, balancing multiple schedules, and will end the day with something she is grateful for.
